State Minister of Disaster Management and Relief Ministry Md Mohibbur Rahman said, ‘Disaster Ministry is a competent institution to deal with any disaster in Bangladesh. So we are ready to face any disaster.We are standing by the people in any problem. Besides, we are working for the welfare of the people.
He said this in response to questions from journalists after paying respects at the tomb of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara, Gopalganj yesterday afternoon.
The state minister said that the disaster ministry provides services not only in Bangladesh but also abroad. Now there are various problems including heatstroke. In that regard, we have already discussed with the standing committee and we have taken necessary measures. Within two days, the disaster ministry will start its work across Bangladesh.
Earlier, State Minister Mohibbur Rahman along with the president, members, secretaries and directors general of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, laid wreaths at the tomb of the Father of the Nation.
Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner Kazi Mahbubul Alam, Gopalganj District Awami League (AL) President Mahbub Ali Khan, General Secretary GM Shahabuddin Azam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Golam Kabir, Tungipara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Moinul Haque, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Khairul Alam, Tungipara Municipal Mayor Sheikh Tozammel Haque Tutul, Municipal Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Saiful Islam and others were present.
